16th MikeLoop Newsletter
Hi everyone,
welcome to MikeLoop's 16th newsletter.
Spring has arrived and we can finally work outside again 🙂
There are a few updates we would like to tell you about:
We updated MikeLoop's preset layouts. They focus on different aspects of working with MikeLoop, like lots of Matrix Loop tracks, lots of effects or a good balance of the 3 loop machines and the effects. The preset layouts are meant as an inspiration for you, so you can come up with your own layouts using the Editor. Just slide the Looper sign on the top right of the screen and edit all buttons and sliders on the screen as you like. I often create layouts specifically for one song or maybe for a band project. Sometimes, in bigger band projects, I use MikeLoop as a multi-effects device, so there will be barely any loops on the screen. In other projects I might need lots of samples and no effects, so I fill the screen with just Simple Loops – you get the point.

this is a rather small update, but a very helpful one in my opinion. We added a clock to MikeLoop. I find it very helpful when I play a concert to keep track of the length of my performance.
We also display the recording time in the Stop Rec button now, so you know how long you've been recording.

And here comes our rather big update, scheduled for June 2025:
There is now a new effect for MikeLoop, the Wobbler Effect:
The wobbler is basically a tremolo effect. It creates quick volume pulses, so you can either create a tremolo or chop your voice into stroboscope-like pieces. The rate of the pulses and the intensity can be controlled on an XY-pad. You can also slide between a sine wave (tremolo) and a square wave (stroboscobe) with the shape slider.
The wobbler is our 7th effect, we now have Reverb, Bass, Pitch shifter, Detune, Delay, Phone filter, and the Wobbler. I encourage you to combine all those effects to create new, unexpected sounds for your voice. If you choose rather subtle settings for each effect, you can create beautiful, dreamy, aggressive or maybe just surprising sounds for your solos and melodies. It's a bit like the acoustic version on a colour palette – you can paint your acoustic painting 🙂

Finally, we would like to invite you to our MikeLoop workshops:
